Do not quit your day job. Even after taking the requited classes (I think they are 6 weeks long), you still need to pass the exams and pay all your fees to get your license. Real estate is a real tough business and is not very profitable for most. It's not worith doing it part time either.
References :
Well, if you are looking to being an entrepreneur getting a real estate license is not the way. It is really easy to get the license, but you have to work for a broker, you just don't go out on your own and start selling houses.

The schools are mostly legit, they prepare you for the test. In CA you only have to get 60% of the answers right to pass. You can pass by simply guessing.

If you are serious about being an entrepreneur you should think about getting a regular 4 year degree in business. You can't learn the skills you will need to start and run your own business in a 1 year class.
References :
You can go to Shore west and take the classes at your own Pace. They have a audio room, recorded classroom and they consider that points when you sign in. I'm still not done because of working long hours but you can get done as soon as you want. Good luck.
References :
Shorewest.com

Getting a real estate license varies from state to state, but most require that you pass a class with a certain number of hours first. So you must study and pass the provider's test and then a state examination to insure that you understand the industry.

The 2 month schools may require daily attendance for 8 weeks.
