Maybe insane people are just people who have broken free from the ties that bind normal people. What if what your seeing right now is actually not there. What if your actually insane?
Most insane people are patently incorrect about everything. Your question is like the sound of one hand clapping.

Thats very possible
But the problem is that crazy people arent very good expressing themselves in a way that poeople can understand.

Good question. But what if I am just a character in a dream you are having? Did I answer your question or did you?

I’ve never thought of it this way. There are many mysteries in the world. Is the color of the sky really blue, is a ball really round. Who was it that actually decided that the things we consider facts are actually true? It’s a smart question you brought up. I don’t know if anyone knows, and maybe the insane people do know, except they don’t know how to tell us, because we’re the ones that are actually insane. It definitely is something to wonder about.

Sure I give you props for that interesting question.
But no one truly knows what reality is. I don’t think that "insane" people perceive it incorrectly they may just take a different route.

Yeah. Right. The "normalcy" that has become so in this "politically correct" society of our great U S of A has become WHACKED OUT. Move to the south. Get normal. Go to HOLLYWEIRD and believe that mess of a situation. California is going BANKRUPT. Sheesh. And they say people in the south are ignorant. PLEASE!

Yes, interesting thought. But they don’t see the truth any more than we do, because this objective absolute knowledge implies imminence, and no human is immanent, no mater what their mental condition. Truly, our and their reality is only their experience of internal sensations, evolved to give them the ability, presumably, to find shelter, food and mates.
However, to categorize anyone’s perception of reality as ‘deformed’ or ‘ill’ would be presumptuous if not hypocritical on your part or the part of psychiatrists. We are all inside our own little subjective realities, and who’s to say there is a ‘right’ way to think? (assuming there is a reality)

Whats insane in one society might be sane in another. But a person has to be able to function also…..if a person cant function in the normal sense of the word then he/she will not be able to convey whatever far reaching message he/she has.

Haha, that’s actually a great question. Everybody conforms to society’s ideals and views of whats normal, correct, or sane. When, in reality, I believe it is an idividual who should decide what is normal behavior. Everyone has different morals, different opinions and they shouldn;t be influencedby everyone else who think you’re not normal just beacuse you’re different. Maybe people we classify as insane have indeed made a break through and broke the bindings of conformation. It is something to wonder, your question.

It wouldn’t change anything. Insane people would still have trouble functioning in a society if they didn’t share the same delusions as most people.

that could be possible if an insane person predicts something and it happens. then people would start considering and who knows maybe we’re all insane and insane people are right.

What if normal was actually normal? And being that we are all dysfunctional to some extent than dysfunctional is normal , and so the insane are the elite of dysfunctional as they as dysfunctional to the extreme. So insane is normal.

Just imagine how many Weird and Crazy ideas they had until they had that one idea that REALLY helped humanity today…
Almost like a lightbulb went off…

I think people that claim to be perfectly sane are the crazy ones. I also believe that what we call sanity is the ability to function within a social group, or tribe, if you will, successfully. If you, for example, were dropped into a social setting in the middle of the amazon with an undiscovered tribe who thought, acted, spoke, looked and felt differently than you do, they would probably think you were crazy. Someone from that same tribe would be committed in this society, because the culture shock would be a little to much. so yes, in a sense you could say that people we deem insane are people who have broken the ties that bind. But on that same note, there is a very malicious or apathetic type of insanity where we feel invincible, or grandiose, or even as though we are the only one who has the ability to feel, etc. etc. these kinds of delusions are harmful to one’s physical emotional and psychological health as well as the health of others, and that is the dangerous type of insane that I think you are referring to. these people are the ones that sometimes need to be removed from society. so there is something bigger than living on the outskirts o what is popularly considered reality. it’s about how we function as a whole, and how these people hinder the greater population’s ability to do so.
