How do I file a complaint against a realtor in Indiana?

Looking for information to file a complaint against a realtor in Indiana. I believe this realtor has violated the code of ethics. Please help or advise in any way you can. Thanks in advance.

This is the way to file a complaint against any one who deals in contracts or business… Call the State Attorney Generals Office and request a complaint form from the Comsumer Protection Dept. They will send you a form to fill out and return in the snail mail, included with the form will be the instructions on how to fill the form out. Be clear and concise with your information and have evidence available when they request it. If you are not completely satisfied with this answer there are some other route that you can take such as filing a complaint with the State Board of Realtors just to mention a few. Good luck with your endeavor.

Report it to the Better Business Bureau. Their site is http://www.bbb.org. They take and record complaints for all businesses so that others can see.

Go to the state gov. website and look for the board or commission that handles real estate licensing.

Contact the local board of Realtors and start the complaint process. They will advise you on how to proceed.

Why do you think they violated code of ethics? You will need to be very certain of your position before you start complaining and reporting. Perhaps a better way to approach it would be to ask the agent’s broker questions to determine whether or not the agent actually violated anything. Ask first…accuse later. Start with the broker. If you are unsatisfied with the response the Board of Realtors is the next step. Good luck

First, are you certain the real estate agent is a REALTOR? If he/she is not one, he/she is obligated to follow the law, but is under no obligation to follow the REALTOR code of ethics.

If the agent is a REALTOR, you can report him/she to the local board of REALTORS.
